ADA demand letter?
We build the defense.

ADA demand letters look terrifying. Your lawyer handles the legal strategy — but they need a technical partner who can produce evidence, audit the site, and remediate violations fast. We don't give legal advice; we build what your defense attorney needs.

What we do in week one

Technical defense, built for lawyers.

We don't replace your attorney. We arm them with evidence that'd take in-house IT six weeks to produce — organized, documented, and ready to file.

Fast turnaround

Forward the letter and the complaint. A developer opens your file within one business day and starts the technical review — no intake queue.

Technical evidence package

Your attorney doesn't speak WCAG, and that's fine — that's our job. We translate every claim in the complaint into specific violations or specific rebuttals, with screenshots and the exact success criterion cited.

Priority remediation

The real leverage in a settlement is showing you've already fixed it. We can wrap a critical-path remediation in 7 to 14 business days for most small-to-mid sites, and document every change for the record.

Attorney-ready handoff

We work alongside your defense attorney as the technical expert in their corner. We don't provide legal counsel or referrals, but we'll build evidence and remediation artifacts your lawyer can drop into a filing.

Timeline

From demand letter to shielded.

  1. 1
    Day 0

    Forward the letter

Email the demand letter, complaint, or settlement draft. We confirm receipt the same business day and schedule a 20-minute scoping call.

  2. 2
    Days 1–2

    Technical triage

We pull your site, run the same audits a plaintiff's firm would run, and tag every claim in the letter as valid, overstated, or wrong. Your attorney gets the results in a single document.

  3. 3
    Day 3

    Evidence + plan

You and your lawyer get one document: what's real, what's not, and how long a fix would take. Straight language, no legal opinions. We stay in our lane.

  4. 4
    Days 4–17

    Remediation + paper trail

We fix the violations. Every change gets timestamped and documented in a format that drops directly into a settlement filing or a compliance declaration.

Common questions

What clients ask the first hour.

I just got a demand letter. What do I do first?

Talk to a defense attorney before you acknowledge receipt — that's the single most important first step. Don't panic-fix the site on your own, since it can affect the record your lawyer may need. Once you've retained counsel, forward us the letter and the complaint and we'll start the technical review.

Are you lawyers?

No, and we won't pretend to be. Studio AM is a design and development studio — we build the evidence package, do the remediation, and hand everything to your attorney in a format they can file. For legal counsel, please work with a qualified ADA-defense attorney.

Can remediation actually help a settlement?

Your lawyer is the right person to answer that specifically, but the general principle is well-established in ADA case law: demonstrating that the violations have been remediated and documenting the fixes gives defense counsel real leverage in settlement talks. Our job is making sure the remediation actually holds up to scrutiny.

What if the letter's claims are wrong?

It happens. Demand letters generated from automated scans sometimes cite issues that aren't actually violations, or issues that have already been fixed. We review every claim against the live site and flag the ones that don't hold up, so your attorney has specific technical evidence to push back.

How fast can you actually remediate?

Critical-path fixes on a small WordPress or Shopify site: 7–14 business days. Mid-size marketing sites: 2–4 weeks. Enterprise or complex stacks: we scope upfront with a hard deadline. We don't commit to timelines we can't hit — lawsuit context especially.

Get started

Send the letter. We'll handle the rest.

Forward the letter, the complaint, and any correspondence with the plaintiff's firm. A developer reviews your file within one business day and schedules the scoping call.
